The 60s was quite the decade for Secret Agents. You couldn’t miss them at the movies, and on TV. Product placement followed swiftly – any number of double-agent dolls were licensed by the most popular shows. Secret Sue was a less-typical example, relying not so much on sex-appeal and more on cute. Carry out your own investigation of these intrepid tiny sleuths here.

Secret Sue! I remember this doll from the Christmas catalogs! I saw a graphic from her packaging on Pinterest at some point and said to myself, OK, where do I know her from? I remember wanting her but don’t think I pushed for her, I had plenty of other dolls, and my buddies the mini Steiffs from when my mom rewarded me after a day of shopping in NYC. (I found adult shopping boring.) Thank you for connecting the dots for me.

Thanks Gail! I’m glad you enjoyed the trip down memory lane. I think Secret Sue must have disappeared in the blink of an eye – you hardly ever see her these days. I couldn’t stand grown-up shopping either – especially if it involved vegetables!

We'd love to know your thoughts!
