Hee Park’s mini burlesque beauty Bambola, shows The Bold Doll some of her delectable new personas.

MY DOLLING
Bambola is an 11½-inch tall French resin doll introduced in 2010 by Jung Hee Park of South Korea, under the brand name of mydolling. She has blue inset eyes, applied lashes, and wears solid resin wigs to avoid those annoying fly-away hairs. She’s a curvaceous doll, inspired by World War II pin-ups, as well as Bettie Page, and Dita Von Teese. She is such a saucy-looking girl, with an air of having been up to no good, even though it’s all probably totally innocent!

COCKTAILS FOR ONE
This doll is never thrown by life’s catastrophes, nor willing to miss out on happy hour. Despite the deluge, Bambola is sustained by a nutritious dry martini until the plumber arrives. Outfit is a vintage 1950s wool coat with Swiss cotton dot dress, Miss Revlon size. Beverage from Constance Madssen Captivating Cocktails, the East 59th Collection by Integrity Toys. Shoes and earrings, Bambola’s own.
HOLA AND OLÉ
Flamenco a-go-go with Bambola in an adapted Madame Alexander’s Cisette Portrettes Lily outfit. Hat from Gene’s Song of Spain. Vintage Hong Kong black heels. She is chaneling Balenciaga with that torreador and puffball vibe. A vintage Spanish souvenir doll gets it on in the background.
LITTLE SPARROW
Who knew she could sing too? A nightclub natural, Bambola steals another dress from Cissette’s back. Re-styled golden sequined centerpiece gown from the Motown Event, complete with glittering shoes, necklace, and microphone. I wonder if she does requests.
DUNGEON FUN
Is there nothing Bambola will not turn her hand to? This versatile little minx goes full dominatrix in another Cissette outfit, Gibson Girl, worn in a way that Madame Alexander never intended. Boots and earring borrowed from Tate Tanaka, Believe the Hype, The Industry series by Integrity Toys. Leather biker hat from Tyson Master by Totem International. Fishnet stockings and riding crop are Bambola’s own. In the background, Billy Herrington by Figma for Max Factory.
WORKING AS A WAITRESS…
How many jobs can one doll have? She’s either most industrious, or fired a lot. Bambola wears Madame Alexander’s Liesl outfit with vintage Mily Gégé heels. Earrings from Luxurious Leisure, East 59th’s Constance Madssen. Tray is from Barbie playline accessories. Your dinner is Hamburger Food erasers by Daiso. Ketchup or relish?
HELLO SAILOR
At last, a little time for R&R. Striking a nautical theme in Madame Alexander’s Sailorette, as she strolls along the promenade. Bag, hat, sunglasses, and earrings are from Luxurious Leisure as before. Bambola is about to be accompanied for the evening by Billy the sailor doll by Totem International.

Re-published from the ‘Decadence’ edition of Fashion Doll Quarterly magazine, 2017.

La Dolce Bambola was launched as an exclusive gift set by Haute Doll magazine, February 2010, and was the cover star for that issue, with a story, photos and styling by Ernesto Padró-Campos, see below.
