These dolls won’t break the bank.
Do you really need to spend a fortune to fund your fashion doll adventures? We took a look at the most inexpensive end of the scale by shopping at the Japanese version of the dollar store, Daiso. All items are priced at $1.50, including the fashion doll Elly and each of her outfits.
Naturally, you don’t get high-end finishes at these prices, but the dolls themselves have an anime charm with surprisingly detailed clothing. Each clothes pack contains shoes and at least one accessory. All of the items purchased for this story, including the furniture, accessories, and outfits, were the result of one trip to Daiso with a bill of less than $50. You can have an adventure on the cheap!

Big Elly, in Strawberry Pink, serves little Elly a selection of eraser goodies from Daiso’s stationery department. They look more delicious than they taste. Big Elly models another Fashion Queen wig. Blonde Elly on a midi Blythe body by Obitsu, wears Wedding Dress (Blue) – few of the outfits are imaginatively named! This ensemble is complete with bridal veil, pearls, and white shoes.
Two groovy Elly dolls wear Pop Idol Costume (Purple) and Pop Idol Costume (Pink). The boots and hair ribbons are included in the packs. Eraser food as before – it’s so low calorie!
