Anouk and Fanfan: the vintage-style French fashion dolls by Nav Sikand.

Anouk captures the allure and style of the 1960s. She is influenced by French actresses of the era, as well as vintage French fashion dolls. The initial production dolls had two hairstyles – a long wavy style with partial ponytail; and a short stylish bob with bangs. There are Caucasian, Black and sun-tanned versions of the doll.

Nav Sikand’s dream was to produce a vintage-style fashion doll. For years he customized existing dolls, but he longed to make a doll exactly as in the 1960s, the golden age of fashion doll manufacture. From the illustrations, marketing, packaging, and clothes, he wanted her to be authentically vintage in feel, using original methods and techniques as far as possible. With Anouk, his intention was to make a vintage-like doll more accessible to those who could not afford an original sixties doll.
