Rik Andersen tells us all about his highly covetable yellow-themed doll. “The starting point for this look was to find the right doll for the outfit.” As Rik explains, “I have always liked the Tonner Shauna face sculpt. I knew I wanted a red head with a ponytail: when I saw the Tonner Warm Up Basic Shauna doll on eBay, she was a great price and her skin tone, blush, and lips all worked perfectly. I went with a Tonner [as opposed to] a Sybarite doll as the body has more structure, so she stands better. I needed this for the pantsuit.”
The ensemble is by Nigel Chia. Rik points out that the designer “has several outfits in his Resort 2019 collection that I love. However, this pantsuit was one of my initial favorites because of the colors, the pop of yellow with all of the embellishments on the bow.”
This evening wear consists of a yellow-bow jumpsuit, with glitter-net, long-sleeve top, and blush-pink brocade pants. It includes floral embellishment, and functional side pocket for pants. The fabrics used are: glitter-net; neoprene; and textured fabric. The pantsuit fastens with a central back zipper and it is unlined for a close, body-conscious fit.
Rik explains further, “I had not bought from Nigel Chia before, but my brother (Ryan Andersen) has six gowns by him. They are all very pretty and well-made, at a great price. Each of his collections of outfits and gowns work together.”
